Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park is the largest and oldest protected area in Uganda with 3,893 km². The Victoria Nile squeezes through a 7 meter wide gorge here and plunges 45 meters down. The park is home to 144 mammal species, 556 bird species and the rare Rothschild giraffe. Boat cruises on the Nile and game drives are among the most popular activities.

Rothschild Giraffe
One of the last wild populations of this endangered giraffe subspecies.

The rare shoebill stork is regularly spotted in the swamps of the delta.
