Kidepo Valley National Park is located 700 km northeast of Kampala and covers 1,442 km² of rugged savannah. The park is home to 77 mammal species — including Uganda's only cheetah population — and 475 bird species. Its remote location makes it one of the most pristine wilderness areas in Africa.
